Cáceres General Assembly

InBestSoil – Cáceres General Assembly

As we step into the final year of InBestSoil, our General Assembly in Cáceres brought all partners together for several days of alignment, reflection, and planning.

The first day set the tone with comprehensive task updates, providing a clear picture of progress across the consortium, alongside direct insights from our experimental sites across Europe. A collaborative co-creation session also helped shape the project’s policy recommendations, ensuring our work remains grounded in both science and real-world relevance.

A key moment of the gathering was the field visit to our experimental site in Talaván, Extremadura. Here, partners explored how rotational grazing in Mediterranean woody pastures can actively contribute to soil restoration, improved land conditions, and long-term resilience. Experiencing these practices on the ground reinforced the tangible impact of our work and the importance of scalable, nature-based solutions.

Day 3 focused strongly on collaboration and future impact. Updates from Work Packages on communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement highlighted our outreach efforts, followed by interactive sessions, including the “Beyond InBestSoil” exploitation workshop and the Dehesa Living Lab exchange. These moments, along with connections built with fellow Mission Soil projects, emphasized a shared commitment to ensuring that InBestSoil’s results continue to deliver value well beyond the project’s lifetime.
