CMCC Foundation – Centro Euro Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici and AGRIS Sardegna have presented the first results of our case study in Sardinia, Italy, during the EGU General Assembly held in Vienna. The Sardinian Living Lab (LL1) is coordinated by the CMCC Foundation and Agris Sardegna and targets Mediterranean agricultural soils while addressing challenges like climate change, soil pollution, land abandonment, and water scarcity. It includes two long-term conservation agriculture experiments and nine Living Lab Experimental Sites (LLES) that evaluate sustainable soil practices. Through soil sampling and analysis, we aim to assess soil indicators and evaluate the economic value of ecosystem services provided by soils managed with sustainable agricultural practices. We strive to create a space for dialogue among farmers, researchers, and policymakers to identify innovative solutions for agriculture’s economic and environmental challenges.
